Created from a rare Lyon, France brocade textile dating to the early 1800s, this one-of-a-kind decorative pillow carries extraordinary history, craftsmanship, and detail.
Delicate floral motifs are accented with subtle hand-beaded embellishments woven into the original textile, adding dimension and quiet luminosity throughout the piece. The luminous gold ground is layered with soft lavender, blush, moss, and cornflower tones, showcasing the richness and artistry of antique European weaving traditions.
A metallic twisted cord was selected as the finishing detail, complementing the elegance and depth of the historic fabric.
Only one pillow was created from this textile.
Each pillow is hand-sewn in Liz Saintsing’s Charlotte studio using refined construction techniques and carefully selected trims chosen to honor the beauty and integrity of the original cloth.
