Created from an extraordinarily rare French silk textile dating to the early 1700s and sourced during Liz Saintsing’s recent trip to Paris, this one-of-a-kind lumbar pillow carries centuries of history, artistry, and preservation.
The antique textile features intricate woven florals and ornamental detailing in softly faded rose, crimson, olive, and golden tones that speak beautifully to the age and rarity of the original cloth. The silk carries a luminous patina developed over centuries, giving the piece remarkable depth, softness, and character impossible to replicate in contemporary textiles.
A rich brush fringe was carefully selected as the finishing detail, adding softness and dimension while complementing the romantic palette and warmth of the antique silk.
Only one pillow was created from this exceptionally rare textile.
Each pillow is hand-sewn in Liz’s Charlotte studio using refined construction techniques and carefully chosen trims selected to honor the beauty, rarity, and integrity of the original fabric.
