Italian Heraldic Velvet Lumbar Pillow with Burgundy Silk Fringe

Created from a rare Italian velvet textile dating to the 1940s, this decorative lumbar pillow features striking heraldic motifs and scrolling details that evoke the grandeur and elegance of old-world European interiors.

Soft celadon, parchment, and muted gold tones are layered against the richness of the velvet ground, giving the textile remarkable depth and character. A burgundy silk brush fringe was carefully selected as the finishing detail, framing the pillow with warmth, movement, and dramatic contrast.

Only two lumbar pillows were created from this rare vintage textile.

Each pillow is hand-sewn in Liz Saintsing’s Charlotte studio using refined construction techniques and carefully selected trims chosen to honor the beauty and integrity of the original cloth.
